Rules for Accreditation and Reaccreditation of Faculty Members
UFSC FACULTY
Guidelines:
- The registration of accreditation and reaccreditation of faculty members in the Graduate Academic Records System (CAPG) is carried out directly by the graduate program’s office, for programs rated 5 or higher in the National Graduate System (SNPG).
- RESOLUTION No. 01/PPGEAL/2020, of 19 October 2020 – Provides for the accreditation and reaccreditation of faculty members in the Graduate Program in Food Engineering.
Procedures/Rules:
- Affiliation with UFSC – Normative Resolution Nº 5/2021/CPG, of 25 November 2021 – Provides for the institutional affiliation required for faculty members accredited in UFSC’s graduate programs.
- Accreditation validity period – Circular Letter Nº 38/2020/PROPG, of 4 August 2020.
EXTERNAL FACULTY (not affiliated with UFSC)
(Formal Cooperation Agreement between Universities)
- Exceptionally, faculty members and researchers from other institutions may be accredited to work in graduate programs, provided that a specific cooperation agreement is formalized with their home institution for a defined period.
RETIRED FACULTY OR FACULTY NOT AFFILIATED TO A HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION
(Volunteer Professor)
Faculty or researchers, including retired UFSC faculty members, may participate in graduate programs provided they have signed an agreement to provide voluntary service to the University in accordance with current legislation.

Note: The volunteer service agreement does not need to be submitted to the Prorectorate for Graduate Studies (PROPG). It is processed through the Program, Department, School, and the Rector’s Office.
