Admissions Process
The Graduate Program in Food Engineering (PPGEAL/UFSC) conducts periodic admissions processes for entry into the Master’s and Doctoral programs, in accordance with specific calls for applications published on this page.
The calls for applications establish eligibility requirements, evaluation stages, timelines, and selection criteria. The process seeks candidates with an academic and scientific profile aligned with the program’s research lines.

📌 Who can apply?Applicants holding an undergraduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or Food Technology may apply, in accordance with the requirements established in the current call for applications.
All required documentation must be submitted exclusively by electronic means, compiled into a single PDF file, following the order specified in the call for applications.
The selection process is based on curriculum analysis, considering the candidate’s academic record and scientific background. Academic performance (undergraduate and, when applicable, master’s degree), scientific production, academic and professional activities, and reference letters are evaluated.
Yes. Only candidates who achieve the minimum score established in the call for applications will be approved, according to the evaluation criteria defined by the Selection and Scholarship Committee.
Approved candidates are ranked in descending order according to their final score. Admission follows the number of available positions and the affirmative action policies established in the call for applications.
Approved candidates must confirm their interest in the position within the deadline established in the schedule by sending an electronic confirmation to the program’s administrative office.
Enrollment takes place at the beginning of the academic term indicated in the call for applications. Candidates must present the required supporting documents and meet the academic requirements to formalize enrollment.
The candidate will be considered to have withdrawn, and the position may be offered to another approved candidate, following the ranking order.
No. Admission is only confirmed after interest confirmation and completion of enrollment within the established deadlines.
No. Scholarships are subject to availability and are awarded according to the ranking order of approved candidates.
